Then Medium IS about writing. The social aspects do not prevent anyone from writing. If you are driven to create, do so until they close the doors, change their model or become an ad-ridden hellscape filled with listicles, mind-hacks and hope-huckstering wannabes, never-weres and aspiring writers who spent more of their only non-renewable resource navel-gazing rather than writing.
Burn out writing. Let those others fade away complaining.
If you were dying, the mark of the writer who believes in their craft, is to write faster.
